At Smiles Ahead, we know that a great dental experience isn’t just about clinical expertise; it’s about feeling at ease with the people looking after you.
Our team combines decades of experience with a down-to-earth, caring approach that puts patients at the heart of everything we do.
The treatment I received was excellent. As the patient you are given a full and thorough examination, and everything is explained step by step. All the staff make you feel at ease. Highly recommende the practice.
With over 20 years of experience in dentistry, Khurram brings a calm, considered approach to every appointment. He’s worked in general practice for most of his career, but his background also includes experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as time spent teaching dental students and nurses in Cardiff and Dundee Dental Hospitals.
Khurram’s love for the field started early; he was inspired by his brother, who is also a dentist, and quickly discovered that what drew him in was how varied and rewarding the work could be. Over the years, he’s refined his focus but never lost his curiosity or enthusiasm. Patients often comment on his gentle manner, clear communication and how much more confident they feel after seeing him.
Rajaishree is known for her friendly nature and ability to put both adults and children at ease. She has a particular interest in paediatric dentistry and facial aesthetics, and divides her time between general dentistry at Smiles Ahead and teaching at Birmingham Dental Hospital.
Her calm, communicative approach is especially valued by families, and she takes real pride in helping younger patients develop confidence in their dental care from an early age.
Nasir is a qualified dentist with many years of experience, currently working as a hygienist while completing his conversion exams. His skill and attention to detail make him a valued part of the team, and his patients appreciate both his thoroughness and his warm, approachable style.
He’s passionate about prevention and always takes time to explain how small changes in daily habits can make a big impact on long-term oral health.
Michele has been with Smiles Ahead since the very beginning, over 35 years ago. She’s more than a manager; she’s the heart of the practice and has helped guide the team through everything from recessions to a global pandemic, always putting patients first.
Her dedication earned her national recognition at the 2016 Dentistry Awards, where the team won Best Team in the Midlands, and Michele was named Runner-Up for Best Practice Manager. Beyond the practice, she also leads the Scout movement in Northamptonshire, reflecting her passion for community, leadership and support.
Darjana joined Smiles Ahead in May 2021 as a Trainee Dental Nurse. Darjana is delighted that she has passed her Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 and is a qualified Dental Nurse.
